Sometimes a step back is exactly what leads forward. That's why gofilemaker.de is saying goodbye to the classic online store on September 30, 2025. Sounds crazy? But it's well thought out. And to celebrate this liberation, there will be a 15 % discount on all purchase licenses until then - for the last time. After that: individual licensing, a clear line, no more compromises.
Why we are pulling the plug - and gladly so
It sounds paradoxical, but it's true: an online store no longer fits in with what gofilemaker.de is today. In the early years, it made sense: customers could purchase licenses with just a few clicks, the developer had time to develop - a fair deal for everyone. But the world has changed. And modern ERP software is no longer a self-service product.
Because:
- Every company ticks differently.
- Every industry has its own requirements.
- And every customer today rightly expects to receive not just "off-the-shelf" software, but a solution that fits.
Advice instead of an order button
The truth is: nobody wants to click through 87 variants when they are simply looking for a functioning ERP system. And to be honest, we can't provide enough information online for a new customer to really understand which license makes sense for them - or what an open license means in practice, for example.
That's why we're putting an end to our online store and focusing in future on what characterizes all the better projects at gofilemaker.de anyway:
Individual licensing on request
Sounds like a step backwards? It's actually a step forward - for customers and for us.
What will change in concrete terms?
The online store will be shut down on September 30, 2025. Until then, there will be a 15 % discount on all purchase licenses - the last promotion of its kind.
As of November 1:
- No more store orders.
- No more rental licenses.
- No more price list on the website.
- Instead: Licensing on request - individual, clear and binding.
Why this is also an advantage for customers
In times when uncertainty is the rule rather than the exception, an online store with fixed prices looks like a relic from better days.
The reality:
- Claris has significantly increased the prices for FileMaker in recent years.
- Many customers are unsure whether they are still buying the right thing.
- And consulting is becoming increasingly important - not just because of the software, but also because of the framework conditions (cloud? local? open? individual? AI?).
In short: A store can't do that. A real conversation can.

The days of classic ERP updates are over
Another reason for this change in strategy lies in the further development of gFM-Business itself. The core functions of the ERP software - i.e. everything to do with address management, invoicing, warehouse, project management, etc. - have been fully developed for many years. Of course, there is still maintenance, small improvements and occasional optimizations. But major functional leaps in the classic ERP core are no longer to be expected in the future - simply because the system is complete and proven in this area.
The future lies around the ERP - no longer in the ERP
Instead, development is increasingly shifting around the ERP system: for example, through connections to local AI systems that process natural language, recognize correlations or automatically generate reports, contracts or emails. Or through the planned integration of Neo4j to display complex relationships in a knowledge graph - for example between customers, projects, invoices, tasks and decisions. No standard system can provide such functions, because they always have to be adapted to the individual data situation and structure of a company.
Standard licenses are a discontinued model
And that is precisely why the classic "Buy now" button in the store is no longer up to date. What is emerging today is a modular, flexible ERP world in which gFM-Business serves as a solid foundation - and everything else builds on it. This means that anyone working with gFM-Business in the future will not only receive software, but also a strategy for the coming years - tailored to the respective company, with clear advice and a long-term perspective. The update strategy will also be adapted accordingly: In future, there will be targeted function packages - individually tailored, instead of providing all users with general changes that are not at all relevant to everyone.
Less is more
This decision is not a retreat - but a strategic streamlining. In future, I want to put my energy into what really matters:
- Customers who are seriously interested in long-term solutions.
- Projects that are set up individually and cleanly.
- Software that is not sold, but understood.
And if that appeals to you, take the opportunity now - until September 30, 2025:
👉 15 % discount on all purchase licenses - one last time.
After that? Let's talk. In the classic way. From person to person.
