The M. Schall publishing house - books from experience, written with foresight
Some things take time.
At the age of 50, after an eventful life full of experiences, decisions and detours, I decided that I no longer wanted to keep these accumulated insights to myself - but to pass them on. Not as a coach, not as an alternative practitioner - but in the form that has always given me the most: the book.
I am Markus Schall, software developer, systems thinker, observer - and since 2025 now also a publisher. The M. Schall-Verlag did not arise from a business plan, but from an inner impulse: what I have experienced and understood should help others.
Why have your own publishing house?
For years, people around me had been advising me to write down my knowledge - especially on health-related topics that I have dealt with intensively. Some even asked why I wasn't becoming a naturopath. But I knew that wasn't my path. I don't want to follow rigid guidelines or be forced into a system - I want to write freely what I think is helpful and right.
With the advent of modern AI tools - especially since 2023 - it became possible for the first time to structure book ideas more quickly, refine texts and get to the heart of complex ideas. This is exactly what gave me the decisive impetus: I founded my publishing house in 2025 - and within a few months I had already written and published several books.
What we publish
M. Schall-Verlag publishes books that are close to the real world. They deal with real issues - not phrases. About things that have been experienced, thought through and applied.
The titles published to date cover three central areas:
🔧 Technical topics
-
The database book with a difference - about the often underestimated approach behind relational databases
-
Writing books 2.0 - How to write books today with artificial intelligence without losing authenticity
🌿 Health & body
-
TMD - The forgotten problem of modern medicine – Recognizing causes, understanding connections
-
The Unconventional Hemorrhoid Book - An honest experience report with a holistic approach
🧭 Lifestyle & change
-
Crises as turning points - A personal book about overcoming difficult times and learning from setbacks
All books are published in both German and English, with other languages such as French and Dutch in preparation. As author and publisher in one, I am free to decide what is published - and above all how.
A publisher for readers who want more
Schall-Verlag is aimed at readers who are not looking for embellished life guides or empty health promises, but clarity, depth and a respectful tone. All books are deliberately written in a traditional style and follow a classic language that focuses on the essentials.
I write the way I think: structured, questioning, but never lecturing. The books are created manually, chapter by chapter - with the support of modern AI, but always in my own personal handwriting.
The journey continues
Further titles are planned in the following areas:
-
Personal development
-
Systems thinking
-
Economy & digitization
-
AI & future technologies
The aim is to build up a thematically diverse book series over the next 1-2 years - with a total of 15 to 20 titles in several languages. The first steps have already been taken.

Joint marketing and visibility
If you are still at the beginning, my book "Writing books 2.0" will be a valuable companion. In it, I not only teach you how to write a good book today - but also how to implement it efficiently with AI support, without losing substance or style.
I openly share the methods I use myself - because I am convinced that it is better to spread knowledge than to hoard it.

Frequently asked questions about M. Schall Verlag
- What distinguishes M. Schall-Verlag from traditional publishers?
M. Schall-Verlag was born out of a personal path - not a market plan. This is not about quick trends, but about books based on real experience. Decisions are not based on sales lists, but on depth of content and personal conviction. The books should be effective, provide guidance and help people move forward because they are the result of lived experience. This independence frees the publishing house to take on courageous, honest and sometimes unconventional topics. - Why are health issues so important to the publishing house?
Because many of these issues have ultimately grown out of personal experience. CMD, haemorrhoids, chronic complaints - these are all realities of life that are often underestimated or misinterpreted for a long time. The publisher's books are not intended to promise miracle cures, but rather to explain connections, share experiences and give those affected a sense of clarity. A traditional attitude plays a major role here: we look at what has proven itself over the years and separate the essential from the trivial. - What role does modern AI play in the creation of books?
AI is not used here as a substitute for thinking, but as a tool. It helps with structuring, fine-tuning language and penetrating complex contexts. The core of the text always remains handwritten - with a personal attitude, personal insights and a style that cannot be copied by machine. The AI is used for precision, not simplification. This preserves the traditional character of the books without sacrificing modern aids. - What characterizes the publisher's technically oriented books?
These books take the approach of looking at technology not as an abstract subject area, but as a thought process. Whether databases, FileMaker or AI - each topic is explained in such a way that the reader understands why things work, not just how. The publisher emphasizes pragmatism, clear language and a classic technical teaching style that was more common in the past: little noise, lots of substance. - Who is the publisher's target group?
The publishing house is aimed at readers who want more than simple guidebooks. People who ask questions, who want to understand the background, who are prepared to go their own way. Entrepreneurs, developers, people affected by health problems, people in crisis - they will all find books here that don't sugarcoat things, but provide guidance. The publisher appeals to readers who appreciate calm, respectful language and are not satisfied with superficiality. - How does a new book project come about in the publishing house?
The process does not begin with a market trend, but with an internal observation: What should be explained? What is missing in the public sphere? What experience could help others? Only then does a structure emerge, followed by the text, chapter by chapter. The AI helps to make it more precise, but the core is created by the author's own thoughts. As a result, each book develops organically - not according to production pressure, but according to maturity. - Why are all the books published in several languages?
Because many topics are universal. Pain, crises, technology, personal growth - they affect people everywhere. Multilingualism gives readers in Europe and beyond access to experiences that are not bound by national borders. At the same time, it strengthens the publishing house as an independent European publishing house. The translations are produced carefully and respectfully, without losing the typically calm style. - What types of manuscripts is the publisher looking for?
The publisher is looking for texts with substance - regardless of the topic. They can be personal experiences, systemic observations, health insights or technical knowledge. The decisive factor is that the text carries an inner truth, that it reveals an attitude and really gives the reader something. The publisher rejects lurid, artificially inflated topics. It seeks quiet strength instead of loud promises. - How does the publisher support authors in writing?
On request, the publisher will accompany the entire process: from brainstorming to structure, writing, editing, formatting and publication. Individual sections can also be supported - such as organizing an unfinished manuscript or condensing the language. The publishing house works in a process-oriented and tradition-conscious manner: step by step, with the aim of creating a book that lasts. - How can I apply to the publisher or present a book project?
Quite simply: via the contact form. The decisive factor is not the finished text, but the seriousness of the project. A brief description of the idea is sufficient. If the attitude is right and the topic fits in with the publisher's line, we can begin our journey together. The publisher is not looking for masses - it is looking for meaning.
