When you hear the word lithium, many people first think of modern rechargeable batteries, battery technology or - with a skeptical eye - psychotropic drugs. But lithium is actually much more than that: it is a naturally occurring trace element that has been present in our environment since time immemorial - in rocks, in water and also in small quantities in plant-based foods.
General
In the category „General“ you will find articles, analyses and commentaries on the social, technological and economic developments of our time. The focus is on topics that affect many people directly or indirectly - from digitalization, artificial intelligence and media to everyday life, the world of work and social change. The articles often combine personal observations with practical experience and a calm, reflective view of current developments. Unlike highly specialized articles, this section is deliberately aimed at a broader audience and offers space for classification, background knowledge and food for thought. The result is a diverse collection of different topics that are nevertheless linked by a common view of interrelationships, changes and long-term developments.
FileMaker Conference 2025: AI, community and an unexpected incident
The FileMaker Conference 2025 in Hamburg is over - and it was a special milestone in many respects. Not only because this year's conference focused on many topics related to artificial intelligence, performance and modern workflows - but also because the personal exchange and the „family atmosphere“ of the FileMaker community once again came into its own. For me personally, it was an intensive, inspiring and all-round enriching time - right from the very first evening.
MCS: When life forces you to move for the third time
I am writing these lines from a vacation apartment in Pilsen, Czech Republic. It's a simple, clearly structured place. Kitchen, WLAN, a good table to work at. Everything I need - no more, no less. I'm not here because I'm on vacation. I'm also not here to follow a whim or start a new chapter. I'm here because I had to.
How I wrote five books in two languages in four months
...and why this is not a miracle, but the result of a clear strategy
For a long time, writing books was seen as something tedious - a lonely project that drags on for months or even years. But what if you let go of this image? What if you rethink writing - with a clear focus, well thought-out processes and targeted use of AI?
In my new book „Writing books 2.0 - a practical guide for authors in the age of AI“ I describe exactly this path. A path that has enabled me to write five books in just four months, publish them in two languages - and not accept any loss of quality compared to traditional publishing.
In-depth books on medicine, personality and technology from M. Schall Verlag
It is with great pleasure that I am introducing my own publishing house to you today: Schall-Verlag. After many years as an entrepreneur, developer and author, it was time for me to open a new chapter - in the truest sense of the word. Schall-Verlag is not an anonymous publishing platform, but a personal project with a clear, independent approach and high quality standards. Books are published here that get to the heart of the matter without pandering to the zeitgeist. Books that inform, inspire - and sometimes even irritate.
Health tips (not only) for FileMaker users
The development of the gFM-Business ERP software has been a little slower than usual over the last year and a half because, as the developer of the software, I had to deal with some strange symptoms of illness where it was not so easy to find the cause. Even though conventional medicine was no real help in my case, with the active support of a few alternative practitioners and a holistic dentist, I was able to find the causes and eliminate my problems. Because the results of this research are so interesting, I have decided to write a short article about it here so that you as a reader can also benefit from it. Below you will find my top favorites as pure tips, I do not earn anything from the referral and do not use any ref links.
Sending e-mails fails with T-Online and Speedport W 724V
The things you experience when you simply want to send an e-mail with Mac OS X 10.10 "Yosemite" in a foreign WLAN! For example, that it doesn't work with any of the SMTP servers set up, even though sending emails on the home network is completely problem-free. Even more puzzling was that another MacBook Pro under Mac ... Read more
Remembering Steve.
Another year has passed since Steve Jobs succumbed to cancer on October 5, 2011. Just a few weeks before that, Steve Jobs announced that he would no longer be able to perform his duties at Apple. This does not seem to have affected Apple's success since then, as the iPhone 5 is once again selling like hotcakes. However, Steve Jobs was still personally involved in the development of the current iPhone. Time for a little timeline in the form of a series of photos of previously current Apple mobile devices that the Apple CEO has launched since his return to Apple.
