The software available on the FileMaker specialist portal goFileMaker zero for dentists now includes the option of carrying out the daily constancy test of diagnostic monitors of digital X-ray devices in accordance with the new DIN 6868-157 guideline under Apple Mac OS X. gFM-Dental 1.1 contains a corresponding test image for carrying out the constancy test in accordance with the new standard. In a Technical article explains which changes must be observed in the new directive and which test criteria apply to DIN 6868-157. The new standard must be applied to all devices that have been put into operation and successfully approved since May 1, 2015. The monthly constancy test is no longer required under the new directive and has been replaced by the annual constancy test, in which the luminance of the diagnostic monitor and the ambient light must now also be measured and recorded. An update of gFM-Dental with support for the annual constancy test and automatic logging of the measurement results is planned.
