Always those Japanese!

Manager seminar with 30 gentlemen from middle management. Meeting at the conference hotel on the last day. The seminar leader speaks:

"Gentlemen, let's finish with a bit of general education. Let's see what you've got. So - I'll give you a classic quote and you tell me who said it, where and when".

He begins:

"Rivers and streams are freed from the ice ..."

Nobody knows. A small Japanese man comes up at the very back:

"Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Faust, Easter walk 1806!"

The participants murmur appreciatively. Next question:

"The moon has risen, the golden stars are shining ..."

And again, as if shot out of a pistol, the Japanese:

"Matthias Claudius, Abendlied, 1779!"

The managers look down to the floor, embarrassed. The seminar leader:

"Firmly walled in the earth ..."

"Schiller"the Japanese man beams, "The Song of the Bell, 1799!"

Now the managers are starting to find it annoying. Mumbles one in the front row:

"Fucking Japanese!"

The voice sounds again from behind:

"Max Grundig, CeBIT, 1982!"
